Stimulating social interaction in a newly build residential area. Ypenburg, 2005 – 2006
Heklucht is a combination of a bike stand and tire pump and is originally developed for an art project in Ypenburg, a newly build monofunctional Dutch residential area. With the goal of facilitating neighbourhood interaction and making life easier for cyclists, the polished stainless-steel fences were placed in front of thirty five Ypenburg houses, exactly on the border between the privately owned and public space.
Commissioned by Projectbureau Ypenburg and Stroom Den Haag.
In collaboration with Jeroen Bruls.
